I started this painting in the summer of 2006, with a bright crimson ground on a linen canvas. The day was wet and windy, the undergrowth was dark and mysterious. After battling with the wind for control of the canvas, I abandoned the painting for a number of years. Recently I came back to it. A dash of white here, a little yellow there, some greens and here it is - vibrant, alive and energetic.
