The painting I would most like to own is ‘Lillies in Spring’. When I looked at the painting again just now, having long loved it, I gasped! This painting takes my breath away and I have an almost irresistible urge to dive into it, to immerse in it, become one with it and die! When I look at ‘Lillies in Spring’ I experience a shock of vibrancy, a reawakening to the colour of the world so beautifully captured – or liberated! – in this painting. I LOVE this painting. If it was mine I would redecorate to make a wall in my home worthy of it and I would meditate on it and have parties to celebrate it and I would MARRY IT! That’s how much I love it! I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT!

That’s genuinely how this painting makes me feel, and humble and small and restored to my place in nature, belonging to God’s own handiwork, ephemeral.
